March 2011 Putting in grey water tanks

Now is the time to put in grey water tanks and a new belly pan.  Now is the time to put in new Axxis axles as well.  Things are moving along nicely.

Still at Colin Hyde's.  The new floor and axles go  on next.  It is so nice to see her with new bones! Second photo is spare tire holder that is hidden under the front frame.  Looking great so far!

April 2010 Rotten Frame Discovered

Ah yes, more bad news....the frame is more rotten than we thought.  Now we know we are in WAY over our heads.  It is time to call the cavalry in.  Colin Hyde will be replacing/repairing our frame, floor, and axles so that we can start with a solid safe foundation in which to work.  Who needs pretty light fixtures if your frame is rotten anyway!

March 2010 Gutting the Airstream

After an inspection with Colin Hyde at Colin Hyde Trailer Restorations, we quickly found out that we needed to fix our Tradewind from the ground up.  Out with the interior furniture, interior skins, and the removal of the dreaded belly pan.   Brace yourself,  these photos get ugly!

We have finally decided to document our progress on renovating our 1960 Airstream.  The first posts will be playing catch up since I bought her way back in September on 2009.  And so it begins....

Photos right after we got her home to Vermont!
